WILLEMSTAD - On 21 January 2019, Breederode Hogeschool signed a new contract with Stichting Wit Gele Kruis for Thuiszorg "Princess Margriet" to continue their collaboration. The signing took place at Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino as part of Bon Bini for Business Summit Curaçao & the Netherlands. These two organizations, which established WGK Academy in March 2018, are preparing for the third round of the training course for health personnel.

Breederode Hogeschool specializes in education in care and welfare and has extensive experience in the Caribbean islands. This university college certifies the training courses that are provided by WGK Academy. Last year, 100 employees of the foundation successfully completed a refresher course on wound care and pressure ulcers. This year, WGK Academy will also offer the training course to various care institutions in Curaçao and the windward islands.

The Skills Lab is part of the WGK Academy and this educational center is used for offering theory lessons, practical training, and e-learning courses. The Skills Lab has the necessary equipment to simulate diseases and health-related situations for the training of nursing techniques and skills. This allows various nursing technical activities and skills to be tested, thus maintaining the skills of the health personnel.
