WILLEMSTAD - After 3 years, the largest network event for financials, accountants, and internal auditors is finally back in Curaçao: the NBA-DCAA Congress took place on November 3 and 4 at the Renaissance Hotel. It was a special conference with an impressive line-up. The theme of the conference was Future-proofing, which discussed what is happening in the world around us and how this relates to Curaçao. There was a mix of special speakers from home and abroad, including Mpho Tutu (live stream), former Prime Minister N.A. Suzanne Romer and president of the NBA Education Kris Douma.

The reason for this theme was the fact that the world is in full swing. A lot is happening at once. After the corona crisis, war has broken out in Ukraine, we are dealing with hyperinflation, with climate change and there is a major shortage in the labor market. These problems have an impact on our work and life.
Fortunately, many good things also happen and solutions were mainly thought of during the congress. We looked at the world outside in and inside out. How can we take control together? How do we look to the future? What is coming at us, and what scenarios are there?
They were two full-day programs including various interactive workshops with a diversity of current topics that are relevant for accountants and other financial professionals.
The program concluded on November 4 with a panel discussion about a future-proof Curaçao and COHO with Kris Douma, Guy Cozijns and Suzanne Romer.
