Strengthening Skills for Local Coaches

Local | By Press release April 9, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Economic Development recently organized a series of training sessions aimed at strengthening the skills of local coaches and professionals. These initiatives are part of the Biz2Biz program, which seeks to reduce red tape and the cost of doing business.

The trainings were led by Nelida Catalina, an internationally experienced coach, and Tsnatee Elisa, a young professional expert from Curaçao. The sessions focused on improving business coaching techniques and the effective use of LinkedIn, equipping participants with tools to better export their services internationally. The goal was to build local capacity and promote “brain circulation,” encouraging the sharing and enhancement of knowledge and skills within the community.

Coaching for Better Business Performance

Nelida Catalina provided participants with advanced coaching techniques designed to improve the business performance of their clients. Emphasis was placed on developing strategic insight and offering practical tools to help coaches more effectively support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

LinkedIn as a Tool for International Growth

In parallel, Tsnatee Elisa led a LinkedIn workshop, where participants learned how to optimize their profiles to expand their business networks and promote their services internationally. This hands-on session allowed participants to make immediate improvements to their own LinkedIn profiles, enhancing their visibility on the global platform.

The training sessions were well received and proved to be an effective way to significantly strengthen the capabilities of local entrepreneurs and professionals. By offering such programs, the Ministry of Economic Development not only supports individual professional growth but also fosters economic resilience and innovation across the Curaçaoan community.

These initiatives were made possible with support from the Temporary Work Organization (TWO), and reflect MEO’s ongoing commitment to investing in local talent development, economic diversification, and international trade.
