WILLEMSTAD - Businesses and individuals planning to sell products such as donuts, Christmas trees, fireworks, or other Christmas items along public roads or at Christmas markets during the year-end period of 2023 must obtain a permit. This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development.

An application is essential to ensure that all activities comply with the law and the applicable regulations, and to guarantee the safety of both vendors and customers. Interested parties should submit their applications early to obtain the necessary permits.

When applying for the permit, applicants must provide various documents. If the application is not made by the director or owner themselves, a power of attorney and identification of the authorized person are required. In addition, a valid identification of the director/owner and assistants, and, if applicable, a copy of their residence permit must be submitted.

For those selling food and beverages, a copy of the G&Gz (Public Health Department) card is required. Proof of payment for the permit must also be provided. If the sale takes place on private property, a consent letter from the landowner is necessary.

Applicants must also provide a brief and clear description of the products to be sold and the location of the sales stand. A photo, map, or description of the sales location, such as a stand, truck, table, etc., is also required.

For the sale of fireworks, in addition to the above-mentioned documents, a permit from the Public Works Department regarding the location and/or establishment where the fireworks will be sold is also required.

Applications for the temporary 'stand' permit for the sale of the mentioned products must be submitted no later than Friday, December 1, 2023, to the Permit Desk. For the sale of fireworks, the application for the temporary permit must be submitted no later than Friday, December 15, 2023.

Please note that applications can be submitted online. For those without internet access, it is also possible to submit the application in person at the Permit Desk counter.
