WILLEMSTAD - There is still an issue with mold in the offices utilized by the government in the World Trade Center, as reported by employees. This isn't the first time complaints have arisen about working conditions; employees have long been complaining about a musty smell and mold along the walls and on desks. Cleaning is now being conducted three times a week, but the mold persists in the air, which could be detrimental to the health of civil servants. The ABVO union confirms that they have also received indications that the contamination is still present in certain offices, but so far, they have not received any concrete complaints from members.
In February, some employees staged a protest against the working conditions. The Minister of Finance, Javier Silvania, then announced that anyone who had participated in the protest would not be eligible for bonuses and would also be prohibited from working overtime for a period of three months.
