WILLEMSTAD - The station ship Zr.Mr. Groningen from the Commander of the Naval Force in the Caribbean, with the NH-90 helicopter on board, is intensifying its patrols around the ABC islands.

The ship supports the Coast Guard to guard the maritime borders of the islands against illegal drug transport, illegal migration, human trafficking and firearm smuggling, with the aim of combating crime. This is done in close collaboration with the Rescue and Coordination Center, the Metal Sharks, the Dash plane and the helicopter of the Caribbean Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard is also supported by the Curaçao and the Aruban militia.
