THE HAGUE - State Secretary Zsolt Szabó of Kingdom Relations and Digitalization will be making a working visit to Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire from August 11 to 16. This is the first official trip of the new state secretary to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. A visit to the Windward Islands will follow later. This inaugural trip primarily aims to familiarize the state secretary with the islands and their officials, starting in Aruba. On Tuesday, August 13, the state secretary will continue on to Curaçao.
In Curaçao, the agenda includes meetings with Governor Lucille George-Wout, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, and other ministers from the Pisas Cabinet. The state secretary will also meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Charetti America Francisca, and members of the Kingdom Relations Committee. Additionally, the state secretary will take a tour of the island, focusing on various important (economic) developments, and is scheduled to meet with the National Reform Commission and the President of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Finally, the state secretary will meet with justice partners and visit the Parera Naval Base, where he will receive a presentation on the activities of the Coast Guard. After Curaçao, the state secretary will travel on to Bonaire.
