WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch State Secretary for Justice and Security Eric van der Burg visited Curaçao on Monday. He met, among others, Justice Minister Shalten Hato and Governor Lucille George-Wout.

The State Secretary will be in Aruba on Tuesday and will conclude the trip to Bonaire on Wednesday. The purpose of the visits is to learn from each other and to exchange practical experiences. Van den Burg spoke to Hato about migration, undocumented migrants, and human trafficking. “We have also agreed to intensify our cooperation,” said Hato.
On Bonaire, the minister visits the police, the Correctional Institution of the Caribbean Netherlands and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The visit will be concluded with the official opening of the new office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service on Bonaire.
