WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Refinery Utilities (CRU), as part of its efforts to reactivate its petroleum facilities, recently offered an unlimited employment agreement to its 262 employees starting from September 1, 2023. This agreement marks the beginning of the first phase of increased refinery activities. The primary focus during this phase, alongside the services provided by Curoil for importing and storing petroleum products, is to provide maintenance and operation services for the asphalt plants at the GOMG company.
This phase has already commenced, and in the coming period, there will be plenty of work to repair and prepare for a safe start of the asphalt production train, while Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) continues its search for an operator for the remaining petroleum facilities in Emmastad and Bullenbaai.
The agreement includes an improvement in secondary working conditions, gradually aligning them with the labor conditions of other companies in the energy sector in Curaçao. This indefinite-term agreement emphasizes the importance CRU places on its employees in the effort to responsibly bring our petroleum industry back to its feet.
