WILLEMSTAD - The report on the process to arrive at a new national emblem is not yet finished. This has been announced by the government accounting firm SOAB. The delay lies with the committee that organized the design competition. Several documents were not provided due to time constraints. The responsible official was busy with the preparations for the royal visit.
Minister of Culture Cithree Van Heydoorn expects the report to be completed by the end of March. An employee of his ministry must now put pressure on the investigation. The Minister of Culture also wants an update every two weeks. SOAB was given the research assignment after plagiarism was allegedly discovered. The winning design incorporates elements from stock photos.
