WILLEMSTAD – This year, SKO (Society of Otrobanda Merchants), Kaya Kaya Movement, and Amor pa Otrobanda are organizing King’s Day 2025 in Otrobanda through a close collaboration. Otrobanda will celebrate King’s Day in the form of Ban Topa Otrobanda. A full and diverse program will be offered for the whole family. On Saturday, April 26, Otrobanda will be transformed into a spectacular atmosphere with activities at Brionplein, Kaya Grandi Otrobanda (Breedestraat), under the viaduct, and throughout the neighborhood streets.

The day’s program will start at 8:00 AM with the 3rd edition of the Amor pa Otrobanda Market, featuring the sale of products, items, food and drinks, a children’s play area (Huki pa mucha), musical entertainment, and much more. The evening program begins at 5:00 PM, offering a variety of musical performances, dance, and a festive atmosphere across different bars and restaurants in Otrobanda.
This year, Kaya Kaya has shifted from being just a festival to becoming a year-round movement of activities and events. The Kaya Kaya Movement emphasizes culture, history, and economic development, involving and empowering the Otrobanda community and businesses to actively participate. The "Amor pa Otrobanda" District Branding Platform will bring increased visibility to the neighborhood, supporting activities, events, and initiatives led by various stakeholders in Otrobanda.
Kaya Kaya Movement is pleased to work in close cooperation with SKO to revitalize Otrobanda and make it more attractive, enjoyable, and safe, allowing both the local community and tourists to rediscover Otrobanda’s commerce, history, and culture.
