Island inspectors take action to ensure public health and safety
WILLEMSTAD - Six Chinese restaurants located across various parts of the island were ordered to close their doors following an inspection carried out by the local authorities. The primary grounds for this decision were the unsanitary and unhygienic conditions identified within these establishments.
Over the weekend, the island's inspection team, known as MEO, embarked on a series of evaluations to assess the compliance of several eateries with health and safety regulations. In addition to the restaurants, one minimarket was also subjected to scrutiny as part of this operation.
Out of the eight establishments inspected, only three were found to meet the necessary health and safety standards, allowing them to continue their operations without any interruption. The remaining six businesses were served notices requiring them to cease their operations until the identified issues are adequately addressed and rectified.
In recent times, the local authorities have intensified their efforts to conduct routine inspections, with a particular focus on snack bars and restaurants. The aim of these inspections is to ensure that all businesses involved in food service adhere to strict health and safety guidelines to safeguard the well-being of the public.
