WILLEMSTAD - Finance Minister Javier Silvania wants corporate income tax cuts in the E-zone. To this end, the minister has sent a proposal to the President of Parliament Charetti America-Francisca.
Silvania wants the rate to be reduced from 22 percent to 15 percent for the first 500,000 guilders. This is because many other countries in the region apply rates between 0 and 10 percent, causing an exodus of companies. The minister wants to introduce the measure from 1 January 2023.
Silvania hopes to prevent even more companies from leaving Curaçao. He calls on parliament to adopt the proposal.
