WILLEMSTAD - October was too dry a month, says meteorologist Alfredo Capello. The meteorologist made several measurements in the Van Engelen district.
The amount of rain that fell in October is 31 percent below the October average. "Because it has rained little, the number of days with thunderstorms was also slightly below the October average," said Capello. According to the meteorologist, all thunder was far away from the measuring point. For him, it has been years since he heard a lightning strike within three miles of him. Usually the most thunderstorms occur in the second half of October.
Average precipitation is expected in November, December and January. In the following three months, Capello expects precipitation to be slightly more than the average.
