WILLEMSTAD - Recent research conducted by Fundashon pa Konsumidó, the Curaçao Consumer Association, reveals significant price differences among products that consumers can purchase at different pharmacies in Curaçao.
The foundation recorded and compared prices of a wide range of products commonly purchased by consumers.

Between August 11 and 19, Fundashon pa Konsumidó visited a total of 29 pharmacies on the island. During these visits, prices were recorded for a total of 93 products, spanning various categories, including oral hygiene products, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, sanitary napkins, ointments, body lotion, and hair care products.
Additionally, products such as ear swabs, nail files, nail polish removers, facial cleansers, face masks, shaving creams, and splash lotions were also included in the analysis.
The research yielded some notable results. It was found that there are significant price differences for the same products sold at different pharmacies.
One example is Nivea products. For instance, a Nivea Soothing Tonic cost 21.45 guilders at Botika Zuikertuintje, while the same tonic was only 6.45 guilders in most other pharmacies.
A similar difference was noted for the Nivea Refreshing Tonic, which cost 23.16 guilders at Botika Sorsaka, while the same tonic was available for only 12.95 guilders elsewhere.
To provide a clear picture of the results, Fundashon pa Konsumidó presents the top 3 pharmacies with the lowest prices for selected products and the top 3 pharmacies with the widest range of products.

Botika Groot Piscadera proves to be the cheapest. A total of 23 out of 93 products are the cheapest there compared to other places. Botika Cerrito follows with 21 products, and Botica Novo with sixteen products.
Botika Groot Piscadera also leads in terms of assortment. 67 out of the 93 products that the Consumer Association included in its test were available there. Botika Cerrito follows with 65 products, and Botika Mahaai with 63 products.
