Several successful "disrupts" by the Caribbean Coast Guard

WILLEMSTAD - Last week the Coastguard carried out several successful "disrupts" in a short time. In the case of a "disrupt", suspected drug boats are disturbed in such a way that the crew throws drugs overboard.

In recent days, the Coast Guard has scared off four different drug boats. After throwing the contraband overboard, the drug boats fled to the territorial waters of Venezuela. The "disrupts" were done by the flying units of the Coast Guard and the station ship Zr.Ms. Groningen, which now sails for the Coast Guard.

Despite searches, none of the packages were recovered and probably sunk. The "disrupts" are considered successful by the Coastguard because the contraband has not arrived at its destination and it means a significant financial loss for the criminal organizations involved in this.
