WILLEMSTAD - A multidisciplinary team closed six hospitality establishments on Saturday night following inspections focused on hygiene and document compliance. Seven restaurants and snack bars underwent scrutiny, with only Almost Home on Caracasbaaiweg meeting the required standards, according to Ronny Cornelis from the Economic Inspection.
Authorities deemed Jun Lai Bar Restaurant in Montaña unsafe, and the establishment was found to be far from clean.
Felis Restaurant in Groot Sint Joris encountered issues with customs documents and was also deemed unsafe and unhygienic, a similar case to Mercury Restaurant.
Paddy’s Curaçao at Hanenberg was also marked as unclean, along with Don’t Forget Me Bar Restaurant in Koraal Partier and Zhen Mei Bar Restaurant in Santa Rosa. In addition to cleanliness issues, an unsafe situation was identified at Don’t Forget Me Bar.
All six hospitality establishments were promptly closed after the inspection. Cornelis did not specify the nature of the unsafe situations discovered. The inspections were carried out by the multidisciplinary team, including the police neighborhood team in Montaña, the Economic Inspection, the Technical Hygiene Care (THZ) of the Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN), customs, and the Tax Accountants Foundation (SBAB).
