WILLEMSTAD – The official draw for the four-man tournament at Honor Fight League #7 has been completed, setting the stage for an international showdown during one of the most ambitious fight cards ever organized on Curaçao.
The draw took place on Easter Sunday, confirming the semifinal matchups for the tournament, which features four fighters from different parts of the world.
The participants are Stephan Tuukara (Guinea/Congo), Charaf Maatallah (Morocco), Jimmy Cobo (Colombia), and Chris Elliott (Curaçao). Each athlete brings a distinct fighting style and background, adding to the international appeal of the competition.
The semifinals will see Tuukara face local fighter Elliott, while Cobo will take on Maatallah.
For Curaçao’s Elliott, the draw presents an immediate challenge against what is considered one of the strongest contenders in the field. However, organizers say the tournament remains wide open.
“There is no clear favorite in this tournament,” said organizer Jonker. “Many might have preferred facing Cobo in the first round, but underestimating any opponent is the biggest risk. That’s exactly why Cobo is also a serious contender.”
With the draw completed, the fight card for Honor Fight League #7 is nearly finalized. Only the tournament final remains to be determined, depending on the outcome of the semifinals.
The event will feature a total of 14 fights, all of them international matchups.
The main event will be headlined by Curaçao fighter Brian Hooi, the reigning WOW FC world champion, in what is expected to be his final appearance on the island for the time being. In the co-main event, Rudsel Zinhagel will make his Curaçao debut against HFL world champion Sharif Ben Mabrouk.
Other notable bouts include the return of David Hawker, who will face experienced Canadian fighter Tom Theocharis. Keanu Irausquin will also return to the octagon and, for the first time, will share the card with his brother Barry Irausquin. Keanu is set to face Suriname’s Luiz Fernando, while Barry will take on Colombia’s David Portilla.
In addition to the evening event, organizers are introducing “HONOR Future,” a separate morning program focused on youth and debut fighters. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. on the same day and will feature five international youth bouts along with several exhibition fights aimed at giving young talents their first competitive experience.
Tickets for HONOR Future will be available at the door for XCG 20, while tickets for Honor Fight League #7 can be purchased at designated presale locations or online.
