WILLEMSTAD - The Council of Ministers has officially appointed Selma Verheijen as the new Attorney General at the Office of the Procurator General for Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. Her primary office will be located in Curaçao. The appointment was made following the recommendation of Dutch Minister of Justice and Security, David van Weel, and was supported by the Ministers of Justice from both Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Verheijen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as a judge and justice in the Netherlands. She was also a member of the Joint Court of Justice. Her extensive legal background and expertise make her well-equipped to take on the responsibilities of Attorney General.
