WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao government has initiated payments this year to Selikor for providing waste management and cleaning services on the island. Since January 2024, monthly payments have been made, with a maximum reimbursement of over thirty million guilders, aligned with the budget allocated by the government after a thorough evaluation.
Selikor receives this funding for essential services, including the collection and processing of household waste, cleaning up illegal dumping sites, and removing dead animals from public roads.
The government emphasizes that Selikor must also fulfill its tax and social security obligations. The remaining funds will only be disbursed once proof of payment for these obligations is provided.
