Security brigade celebrates eighteenth anniversary

WILLEMSTAD - Brigada di Seguridat i Formashon (BSF) celebrates its eighteenth anniversary. The security brigade was set up by the youth organization Bos di Hubentut in 2004 after an incident at an event in which a boy was killed because no security measures had been taken.

BSF is a non-profit organization that focuses on educating children and youth. During events, the security brigade monitors and is in close contact with the authorities. The work is carried out on a voluntary basis by young people between the ages of 15 and 25.

When the organization was founded, the security brigade had 25 members, but this number has now risen to eighty. “A lot of attention is paid to the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of our members. The aim is for young people to grow up to be responsible and disciplined citizens,” said BSF.

With its eighteenth anniversary, BSF also celebrates that the organization has been standing on its own two feet for a year. After seventeen years, the project was officially transferred to the Youth in Development Foundation, a foundation that provides various activities and training for young people.
