WILLEMSTAD - A 22-year-old man turned himself in at a police station on Curaçao on Wednesday evening. He is suspected of the murder of Dutch Royal Marechaussee adjutant Toon Brood.
The 49-year-old Brood was shot dead in his home on Reigerweg during the night of May 31, when three men broke in. On Friday, June 7, a first suspect, a 25-year-old man, turned himself in to the island's police. He remains in custody as part of the investigation.
Earlier this week, Brood was honored with a ceremony at the Sufisant Marine Barracks on the island. His body has been flown back to the Netherlands, where he will be buried.
