Second round of public hearings commences for Hospital Nobo Otrobanda (HNO)

WILLEMSTAD - Today, the inquiry committee for Hospital Nobo Otrobanda (HNO) initiates its second round of public hearings, bringing to the forefront the involvement of four prominent politicians in the construction of the new hospital in Otrobanda. Charles Cooper, Gilmar Pisas, Eugene Rhuggenaath (via a virtual session), and Kenneth Gijsbertha are scheduled to provide insights into their roles and responsibilities during this crucial phase. 

The hearings constitute a pivotal segment of an extensive investigation that delves into five key themes: decision-making regarding the hospital's location, financial responsibility, the transition from the old to the new hospital, construction aspects and safety, and government responsibility. The committee, established by the Parliament of Curaçao, aims to foster complete transparency and meticulously scrutinize the processes involved. 

Expected to unfold are revelations from this second round of hearings and the ensuing investigation, which will be meticulously compiled into a final report for submission to the parliament by the end of April. This comprehensive document promises not only to shed light on the construction and planning intricacies of the Hospital Nobo Otrobanda but also to offer valuable guidance for future projects and healthcare policymaking endeavors in Curaçao.
