WILLEMSTAD - A search is ongoing in Spanish Water for an injured sea turtle, possibly struck by a boat propeller. The turtle was last seen alive on Sunday morning.

The Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao (STCC) received a report about the injured turtle and launched a search effort. A photo shows the turtle’s shell damaged, with a visible wound at the site of the injury.
STCC activated its extensive network of volunteers, who spent much of Sunday searching a specific area of Spanish Water, particularly near the Curaçao Yacht Club where the turtle was first spotted. Despite their efforts, the turtle had not been located as of Monday morning.
Ard Vreugdenhil, the driving force behind STCC, expressed gratitude for the community's involvement. He stated that the organization hopes anyone who spots the turtle can bring it ashore, where STCC will take over its care.
