WILLEMSTAD – On Thursday around 7:00 pm, the Rescue & Coordination Center (RCC) received a request from the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) to assist in the search for a man who had fallen into the sea near Shut on the north coast. The man was looking for sea snails with another man when he fell into the sea.
The Coast Guard helicopter was immediately deployed to search for the man. The Coast Guard plane Dash had already arrived on the scene, searching for the missing man. CITRO has also been informed and the Dutch naval vessel Zr MS. Groningen, currently sailing for the coastguard, has been asked to help. By nightfall, the man had not yet been found and KPC was informed about this. This morning at first daylight, the Coast Guard resumed the search together with KPC.
