WILLEMSTAD – A delegation from the Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Kòrsou (SDKK), the Curaçao prison, recently conducted a working visit to Fuse Caribbean (The Upcycling Factory). 

The goal of the visit was to gain insight into the company’s production plant. The delegation received an extensive tour of the facility, where they observed how recycled plastic is processed and transformed into a material that becomes even stronger than wood, enabling the production of sustainable goods. 

As a follow-up to the visit, Fuse Caribbean will hold a workshop at SDKK’s Carpentry Department to teach clients how to produce various items using recycled plastic that has been converted into wood-like material. 

Looking ahead, SDKK also aims to contribute to environmental sustainability by initiating recycling efforts within its institution. 

The SDKK delegation expressed great satisfaction with the visit and the possibilities it opens for collaboration and environmental responsibility.
