WILLEMSTAD - The holiday calendar for the upcoming school year 2024-2025 has been announced. Classes will commence after the summer break on Thursday, August 15, 2024. 

The autumn or mid-term break is from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 11. The Christmas holiday starts on Friday, December 20, and lasts until Sunday, January 5, 2025. 

Carnival 2025 begins on Monday, February 24, with children's carnival, and then schools will be closed from Monday, March 3, to Friday, March 7, for the grand carnival celebration in Curaçao. 

The Easter holiday is from Wednesday, April 16, to Friday, April 25, and schools are off for Ascension on Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30. The summer vacation starts on Thursday, July 10, and lasts until August 20, 2025. 

On special days, students can also stay home, such as Curaçao Day on Thursday, October 10, Labor Day on Thursday, May 1, including an extra day on Friday, May 2. Students are also off on Flag Day, Wednesday, July 2, 2025. King's Day on April 27, 2025, falls on a Sunday. 

In total, teachers and students will enjoy 61 days of vacation.
