WILLEMSTAD – The Foundation for the Supervision and Standardization of Government Entities (SBTNO) has issued sharp criticism regarding recent appointments to the Supervisory Board of C-Post, Curaçao’s government-owned postal service.
According to SBTNO, the government has nominated candidates who do not meet the required qualifications, citing a lack of relevant experience, unclear professional profiles, and concerns about the candidates' professionalism.
The watchdog also accuses the government of bypassing formal procedures, noting that some appointments were made without first obtaining advisory input from the SBTNO.
“This approach raises serious concerns about transparency and administrative diligence in the appointment process,” the foundation stated.
SBTNO also noted that key board positions—including those for Human Resources, Marketing, Legal Affairs, and Logistics/ICT—remain vacant, adding to the governance challenges at C-Post.
The critique adds to growing concerns over the standards and integrity of board appointments at public entities in Curaçao.
