WILLEMSTAD – Sandals Royal Curaçao hosted its annual Prestige Awards this March, recognizing team members and departments for outstanding performance, dedication, and contributions across the resort and within the community of Curaçao.
The awards celebrate excellence in areas ranging from leadership and guest experience to environmental responsibility, community involvement, and the embodiment of Sandals’ core values. Winners received a variety of prizes, including monetary rewards, household appliances, electronics, and all-inclusive vacation stays at any Sandals or Beaches around the Caribbean.
The ceremony welcomed several distinguished guests, including Minister Hato, Minister Boekhoudt, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHATA) CEO Anuschka Cova, CHATA board member Peggy Croes, and Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) President Phillip van Alstede. Following an opening blessing by Pastor Cross, the event was officially opened by General Manager Jeffrey Speelman.
“I am immensely proud of this team,” said Speelman. “While tonight we recognize individual achievements, each success is made possible by the collective strength of our team. Together, we continue to deliver something truly extraordinary for our guests.”
Addressing attendees, CHATA CEO Anuschka Cova commended the honorees and the broader hospitality sector: “You are ambassadors of hospitality, representing Curaçao with professionalism and warmth in every role you fulfill. Your dedication is invaluable to the continued success of our tourism industry.”
A total of 94 team members were nominated across 15 categories. Nominees were encouraged to bring a family member or guest, so their loved ones could also see and experience how their efforts are appreciated. It made the evening even more special and personal.
The annual Prestige Awards remain a cornerstone event for Sandals Royal Curaçao, reinforcing its commitment to excellence, team recognition, and the continued development of its people.
