Saliña shopkeepers concerned about rising sewage water levels

Local | By Correspondent September 24, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Shopkeepers in Saliña are expressing serious concerns over the sewage situation on Kaya Max F. Henriquez. The water level has already risen to the edge and is on the verge of overflowing. With impending rainfall, the area is likely to experience flooding. This issue has persisted for quite some time, and a call for action was made to the relevant authorities some time ago, but no solution has been implemented.

Today, the shopkeepers reiterated their urgent appeal in the local news outlet Extra, urging the responsible authorities to address the problem to prevent a public health disaster should heavy rains occur. The shopkeepers fear that without prompt action, the situation could escalate into a serious hygienic crisis for the community.
