Royal family gets demonstrations at sea Coastguard Caribbean

Local | By Correspondent February 1, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The Royal family has arrived in Curaçao with the naval ship Zr.Ms. Holland from Aruba. Curaçao is the third island, after Bonaire and Aruba, to be visited during the tour of the Royal Family to the Caribbean.

The royal family was given a demonstration at sea of an intervention by the coast guard from a drug boat. This was followed by a 20-minute demonstration of the FRISC. Princess Amalia jumped at the chance to get behind the wheel of the navy's super-fast boat and set sail herself. This turned out to go well for her.

The FRISC (fast raiding interception and special forces craft) is a very fast intercept and special forces craft. Another drowning man was then rescued from the sea by helicopter.

The Commander of the Navy in the Caribbean, Brigadier General of the Marines Frank Boots, accompanied the royal couple on board.
