WILLEMSTAD - During the past weekend, a routine inspection was carried out at the Curaçao Detention and Correction Center (SDKK). This is part of the maintenance of order and security within the institution, ensuring a safe environment for both clients and the staff working there.
This rigorous inspection took place in various prison blocks and resulted in the confiscation of:
Multiple cell phones of different brands,
Various chargers and earplugs,
Drugs,
1 firearm with ammunition,
Various sharp objects used as improvised weapons.
All confiscated items will undergo further investigation to determine how the clients within the institution obtained them. Unannounced inspections will continue within the facility to safeguard the security of staff, clients, and visitors at all times.
