WILLEMSTAD – Roosevelt Center has issued a public apology following outrage over a video showing waste being illegally dumped from a truck bearing the company’s logo. The footage, which circulated widely on social media, sparked strong public criticism.
In an official statement, company director Jouhaina Ayubi expressed regret over the incident. She explained that she was abroad at the time and only became aware of the situation after seeing the video.
According to Ayubi, the individual responsible was not an employee of Roosevelt Center but had been hired for unrelated work. Without authorization, he used the company vehicle to dump his personal waste.
The director stressed that such behavior is neither approved nor condoned by her or the company. “Roosevelt Center takes full responsibility for the situation and has taken action to completely clean the site,” Ayubi said.
She reaffirmed her commitment to keeping Curaçao clean and pledged to continue working toward a well-maintained and beautiful living environment.
