WILLEMSTAD - In a significant move for traffic safety, the road management authority in Curaçao is set to commence the application of road markings on Don Martina Boulevard, spanning from the Biesheuvel intersection to the Schottegatweg Zuid near the monument.
The month-long project kicks off today, with the roadwork scheduled during nighttime hours from 21:00 to 05:00. This strategic timing aims to minimize disruption to traffic on this vital route, ensuring a smoother flow for commuters.
Road markings and lane delineations play a pivotal role in enhancing traffic safety for various reasons. They provide crucial information to road users regarding traffic regulations and road layout, contributing to accident prevention and facilitating seamless traffic flow.
The contractor for this essential undertaking is CWM, tasked with executing the project in multiple phases. Traffic will be rerouted in each phase, a systematic approach aimed at minimizing inconvenience, as per the Ministry of Traffic and Transportation.
This initiative is anticipated to significantly enhance road safety and navigation for motorists on Don Martina Boulevard, aligning with the broader efforts to create safer and more efficient roadways across the island.
