WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, roadworks began on parts of the Dr. Maalweg. Due to the poor condition of this road, the Public Works Department will carry out maintenance work, including asphalt work.

Specific sections of the road in poor condition will be scraped to remove the old layer and replaced with a new asphalt layer. The 'patch repair' method has been chosen because it is cost-effective and allows for the restoration of more roads in Curaçao.
The work will take place during the evening hours, taking into account the daytime traffic on these roads and safety. The activities extend from the traffic lights at the intersection with Caracasbaaiweg to Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The roads will be closed during the execution of the work. Signs and barriers will be placed to redirect motorists to alternative routes to their destinations.
The Public Works Department further informs that the work is expected to last for two weeks. The work is carried out by the Curaçao Road Construction CWM. The working hours are from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
All motorists are urged to drive carefully and be mindful of the ongoing roadworks.
