WILLEMSTAD - The measures as announced last night are, according to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, "in development" and are gradually evaluated and adjusted if necessary.
"We are aware that these measures are drastic and trust me, it was not easy to make these decisions, but we have a responsibility to protect the people, and we do that now too, says Rhuggenaath.
“We may have to think on a spiritual level what this situation teaches us. I am convinced it will make us stronger. Despite the hard blows, we will not be lax in the measures to be taken to prevent illness and possibly death. Every life matters. We must take care of ourselves and each other now.”
“Despite the suffering of today, I know that there is light on the horizon and that we will recover again after this crisis.”
