Residents of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten can vote for the Senate

THE HAGUE - For the Dutch residents of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten it will be possible to vote during the elections for the Senate. The elections will take place in March this year. This requires a special registration: 'voter outside the Netherlands'.  

 

According to the Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland, people can register via www.stemvanuithetbuitenland.nl. When they are registered, they will receive a notification and the required documents can be collected from the office of the Representation of the Netherlands.  

 

The conditions that apply to this registration include that the voter may not be registered in a municipality in the Netherlands, he must have Dutch nationality and be 18 years or older. In addition, they must have lived in the Netherlands for at least 10 years or have worked in the public service of Curaçao, Aruba or Sint Maarten. They can register until January 31.
