WILLEMSTAD - In 2023, the 12.5 percent salary cut will be eased to six percent. The Council of Ministers (RvM) agreed to this on Wednesday.
The 3.5 percent cut on holiday hours will also be withdrawn, says Minister Ornelio Martina of Policy, Planning and Services (BPD). The six civil servants' unions reacted with joy after they united and received agreement from the Council of Ministers on their proposal.
Before the relaxation is implemented, the country must meet three conditions. The standardization law of top incomes must be implemented. In addition, the budget for 2023 must be adopted by parliament and finally, the payment of holiday pay in 2023 depends on the liquidity position of Curaçao.
