WILLEMSTAD - Monastery Alverna will partly serve as a rehabilitation center. Elderly people who need to recover after a stroke or hip fracture can then stay there. That is much cheaper than in the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).
The rehabilitation center is run by Fundashon Birgen di Rosario. The rehabilitation treatment is in the hands of the SGR group. The monastery will undergo a renovation in the coming period. The rooms are being modernized. There will also be a treatment room and recreation room for patients.
