WILLEMSTAD - State-owned company, Refineria di Korsou (RdK), the owner of the refinery, filed a claim at the last minute with the departing Isla Refinery (a subsidiary company of the Venezuelan State Oil Company PDVSA).

PDVSA must pay 100 million U.S. dollars in damages, because of a breach of contract during the past year and a half.

The refinery has been idle all this time. It has been agreed in the lease contract that compensation must be paid.
