WILLEMSTAD - Raymond Ellis will be the new chief of the Curaçao Police Force (KPC). The Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Ellis.
Ellis had been acting chief of police for many years. He began his career with the police force in 1986 and was the internal chief of the force for the past five years, the last two years without a boss. Former chief of the corps Mauricio Sambo left in 2020, after which Ellis took over.
The vision and mission had already been drawn up under Ellis's leadership last year. The focus is on being a suitable and reliable organization that will work to help society, maintain public order and protect every citizen.
The goal of Ellis himself fits in well with this. He says he wants to remove all 'bad apples' from the force. Even if this means that the corps will have a lower staffing level.
