WILLEMSTAD – The ruling Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) has elected a new party board for the 2026-2028 period, with parliamentarian Ramón Yung chosen as the party’s new chairman.
The election took place Tuesday evening during a general party meeting, which MFK described as an important moment in the continued development of the party.
According to MFK, the election process was carried out democratically and transparently, with members voting to select the new leadership team that will guide the organization during the coming years.
In addition to Yung, the following members were elected to the party board:
- Fergino Brownbill
- Juniël Carolina
- Mercée Doran
- Sandy Losiabaar
- Rigoletto Thode
MFK political leader and Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas will serve as the seventh member of the new board.
In his first remarks following the election, Yung thanked party members for their confidence and stressed that his election represented more than a personal victory.
“Being elected tonight as President of MFK is not a victory for Ramón Yung alone, but a victory for unity, shared vision, growth and development not only for MFK as a political organization, but for every citizen of our country,” Yung stated.
He said he accepts the position with humility, determination, and a deep commitment to serve both the party and Curaçao with integrity.
Yung also expressed appreciation to outgoing chairman Sithree van Heydoorn and the outgoing board members for their dedication and contribution to strengthening the party during their term.
According to MFK, the new board will hold its first official meeting soon to assign internal positions including vice-chairperson, secretary, and treasurer.
The election comes as MFK recently celebrated its 16th anniversary and continues to hold a dominant political position in Curaçao following its electoral victories and parliamentary majority.
