WILLEMSTAD - Former deputy Ramon Chong has confirmed to various media outlets that he will not be assuming the role of director at utility company Aqualectra. This statement comes in response to widespread speculation after Darick Jonis announced his resignation as director of Aqualectra last Friday.
Having served the water and electricity company for over twelve years, Jonis will be stepping down from his position. Following Jonis' announcement, Chong's name circulated on social media due to his current employment under Minister Ruisandro Cijntje of Economic Development. However, Chong has clarified that he has no interest in pursuing the job. Minister Cijntje emphasized the need for Aqualectra's management to assume responsibility in the aftermath of last Thursday's blackout.
