Queen Máxima Visits Eugene Rhuggenaath

WILLEMSTAD – Queen Máxima paid a visit to former Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath during her working visit to the United States last week. Rhuggenaath has represented the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the World Bank in Washington since 2023 as a board member. 

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands visited Washington on February 19 and 20 and will be in New York on February 24 and 25 for discussions in her role as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Inclusion (UNSGSA). 

In Washington, Queen Máxima held talks with the President of the World Bank, where Eugene Rhuggenaath was also present, along with executives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as other key stakeholders, to discuss collaboration in the area of financial health. 

Rhuggenaath 

Eugene Rhuggenaath began his term in 2023 as the Kingdom of the Netherlands' representative at the World Bank in Washington. This role means he participates in key financial and economic decisions within the World Bank, which focuses on supporting countries in their development and economic growth.
