WILLEMSTAD - Exports from Puerto La Vela in Coro, Venezuela to the ABC islands have surged significantly, showcasing a notable increase in trade over the past year. Recent data reveals that exports grew by an impressive 60.29% from August 2023 to August 2024. In August 2023, Puerto La Vela exported 340 tons of goods, a figure that soared to 545 tons by August 2024.
Analyzing the total export data for January to August 2024, the breakdown is as follows:
Curaçao: 1,820 tons, accounting for 79.13% of total exports
Aruba: 480 tons, representing 20.86% of total exports
The diverse range of products exported includes cheese, fruits, vegetables, plants, fertilizers, planters, charcoal, fish, construction materials, and confectionery.
Extending the scope to total exports from May 2023 to August 2024, the figures indicate:
Curaçao: 4,290 tons, comprising 87.37% of total exports
Aruba: 620 tons, making up 12.62% of total exports
