WILLEMSTAD – The Urban Planning Service (ROP) is publishing information on issued building permits to keep the community informed about developments taking place in their neighborhoods.
Through these publications, residents can stay up to date on urban planning activities across the island. Information is published weekly, covering permits granted in the previous week. The public can visit www.vvrp.cw/permit to review data from the first 11 weeks of 2026, as well as archived information from previous years.
During week 11 of 2026, ROP issued a total of 15 building permits.
The purpose of a building permit is to ensure that construction takes place in a safe, legal, and regulated manner. Such permits are essential for several reasons, including ensuring structural safety for occupants and surrounding areas, verifying that construction complies with zoning rules and planning regulations, protecting the interests of neighboring properties, traffic flow, the environment, and infrastructure, and guaranteeing that projects meet established technical and construction standards.
A building permit is essentially an official government approval required before starting any construction or renovation project.
