Public Prosecution: Military arrested

WILLEMSTAD - In the early morning of January 31, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee held a check on driving under the influence at the navy barracks in Curaçao.

A 22-year-old Curaçao soldier was arrested on-site for suspicion of driving under the influence. The result in the preliminary alcohol test was negative, but in the saliva test he tested positive for two types of drugs.

He has been banned from driving for 24 hours.

Further information on his blood will have to come to the fore. The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee will continue the investigation under the leadership of the Public Prosecution Service Curaçao.
