WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas has declined, for the time being, a request from the opposition parties consisting of the PAR/MAN/TPK parties to appear in the Parliament to discuss the Ennia debacle. Pisas conveyed this in a letter to the President of Parliament, Charetti America.
The government is currently in discussions with the Central Bank and the Dutch government to find a solution. In his letter to the Parliament President, Pisas stated that it is not appropriate to discuss the insurance company in a public meeting at this time.
Pisas mentioned that there are deadlines to meet with the Central Bank and the Dutch government, and a media silence agreement has been established.
Ennia is facing significant issues due to mismanagement and is unable to pay pensions to approximately 30,000 individuals.
