Prime Minister Pisas Receives Visit from CONCACAF President Mr. Victor Montagliani

WILLEMSTAD - Today, the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Mr. Gilmar Pisas, welcomed the President of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), Mr. Victor Montagliani, during his official one-day visit to Curaçao.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Pisas and Mr. Montagliani held a productive dialogue regarding cooperation between the Government of Curaçao, the Curaçao Football Federation (FFK), and CONCACAF, aimed at continuing to improve sports facilities on the island.

The Prime Minister expressed his support for promoting the development of football in Curaçao and discussed the idea of establishing a “soccer school” to offer opportunities to young local talents aspiring to pursue a career in the world of football.

Both leaders also addressed the topic of women’s football and shared the same vision of strengthening female participation in the sport.

On his agenda, Mr. Montagliani included meetings with the new board of the FFK, representatives of football clubs, and other members of the federation. He also planned discussions with sponsors and members of the press.

Mr. Victor Montagliani has led CONCACAF since May 2016, elected based on his “ONE CONCACAF” vision, which focuses on better football governance, more competitive tournaments, and equal opportunities for all 41 member associations. Under his leadership, CONCACAF has achieved remarkable milestones, such as the creation of the CONCACAF Nations League, the restructuring of international match schedules for both men and women, and the establishment of Concacaf W, a strategic program dedicated to the growth of women’s football. With his re-election in 2023 for a new term through 2027, the members reaffirmed their confidence in his leadership and vision for the future.

Mr. Montagliani is not only the President of CONCACAF but also serves as FIFA Vice President, a member of the FIFA Council, Chair of the FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee, and President of the Board of Directors of FIFA Ticketing AG.
