WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas met with young people from different countries who are studying the climate change process in Dubai.
The goal of this meeting was, among other things, for the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas to engage extensively with these young people on:
The importance of the structural participation of our youth, allowing them to resonate their voices in their own sustainable future around the world. Our youth must be able to participate and contribute to thinking about possible changes that need to come;
Encourage young people to continue raising awareness and making calls to their leaders and officials regarding climate change-related changes;
Encourage our youth to continue listening and participating in substantive debates on topics they consider important, such as issues related to inequality, climate justice, loss, damage, and the gradual elimination of fossil fuels.
Our youth from Aruba, Oriana Wouters, from Sint Maarten, Riddhi Samtani, and from Curaçao, Muskaan Khemani, also represented our Kingdom countries in a dignified manner and brought the discussions to a high level.
There were also young people representing the Netherlands, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Egypt, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Solomon Islands, South Africa, and Sweden, among others.
The meeting was very engaging, and Pisas delivered the opening and closing speeches of the event.
